Job Description

We are seeking an Export Licensing and ITAR Compliance Specialist who will be responsible for managing the licensing process with various US government agencies that approve, assist with and monitor the control of exports and other regulated activities, as we grow our business nationally and internationally. An ideal candidate should have experience with ITAR, trade controls, and compliance programs. This position is responsible for providing advice and guidance to senior leadership and company personnel on the application of U.S. Government export/import regulations including, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations. This job consists of coordinating with various internal functions in obtaining the necessary U.S. Government export/import licenses, agreements, permits, certifications, technology release authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the export/import program at WhiteFox
  • Manage the logistics of the export licensing process.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining export documentation
  • Screen customers to confirm they are not on any us Government debarred list
  • Determines and Compiles required information and documentation from customers for the submittal of license application.
  • Prepares and submits export license applications
  • Submits approved licenses to the appropriate government agency
  • Develop and implement company procedures and instructions to support compliance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and Company policy
  • Responsible for review and approval of requests for the export and/or import of controlled goods and information
  • Manage and maintain export-licenses files and records in accordance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and Company policies
  • Identify training needs to develop and provide training pertaining to export/import requirements
  • Coordinate with vendors for importing products
  • Ensure consistent profitability and cost-efficient operations for imports and exports

 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years export/import and regulatory compliance related experience
  • Bachelors Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Business or related discipline 
  • Extensive knowledge and application of export/import regulations (ITAR, EAR, Customs)
  • Experience with various websites used for applying for licenses
  • Excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to interpret and implement regulations
  • Ability to participate in multi-functional teams working on export/import issues with an ability to drive issues to conclusion
  • Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
  • Experience in Defense and Aerospace with high technology products
  • Ability to conduct audits and assessments to regulatory standards and requirements
  • Attention to detail and follow-through on assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
